Troubleshooting
- The page says the file is too heavy for this device In-browser processing has to fit in your browser's memory. Close other tabs, use a computer instead of a phone, or trim the video first with Trim Video.
- Compression is slow Encoding happens on your own processor. Balanced and Small File are faster than Best Quality; a lower resolution is fastest.
- The result came out as MP4 although I chose WebM If WebM can't be written for a file, the tool saves an MP4 instead and tells you in the notes.

Max size?
There is no upload limit because nothing is uploaded. The practical maximum depends on your browser and device memory; the page warns you before a file is too heavy.
Is my video uploaded?
No. Compress Video runs entirely in your browser with WebAssembly. Your file never leaves your device and is never sent to Fah Swe servers.
How much smaller will my video be?
It depends on the source. Phone videos and screen recordings often shrink by 30–70% on Balanced; lowering the resolution saves much more. The estimate before Run is approximate.
Does compression lower resolution?
Only if you choose a lower resolution. By default the resolution is kept and the bitrate is lowered.
Why is my result not smaller?
Some videos are already efficiently compressed. Try Small File, a lower resolution or frame rate, or a target size.
