What this tool does and does not do
- Each GIF frame becomes a PNG picture layer inside the SVGA. Pixels are not traced into vector shapes.
- SVGA is not a video codec: a busy, full-frame animation can be larger than the GIF. The real sizes are shown before you download.
- Timing is kept by choosing a frame rate up to 30 fps; any remaining difference is shown in milliseconds.
- Very long or very large GIFs can be too much for a phone's memory — choose a smaller size or a lower frame rate.
What is SVGA?
SVGA is the animation format of SVGAPlayer, used for live-stream gifts, voice-chat room effects and app animations. It is not SVG: an SVG is a vector image, while an .svga file packs picture layers and per-frame positions in a compressed protobuf file.
What is GIF to SVGA Converter?
GIF to SVGA converts an animated GIF into an SVGA 2.x animation — the format live-streaming, voice-chat and social apps use for gifts and room effects. The GIF is read and converted inside your browser; nothing is uploaded, and the finished .svga plays next to the original before you download it.
GIF to SVGA by Fah Swe Tools converts an animated GIF into an SVGA 2.x animation for live-stream gifts, voice-chat rooms and app effects. The GIF is decoded in your browser, every frame keeps its timing and transparency, and the result plays in the official SVGA web player before you download it.
Key features
- Real SVGA 2.x output (zlib-compressed protobuf), checked with the official SVGAPlayer-Web-Lite

- Keeps GIF frame timing (up to 30 fps) and transparency; shows the exact timing difference
- Size and frame-rate options, real before/after file sizes
- 100% in the browser — the page cannot send your file to another server

FAQ
Is my GIF uploaded?
No. The GIF is decoded and converted inside your browser and the .svga file is made on your device. This page is not allowed to send files to any other server.
Is SVGA the same as SVG?
No. SVGA is the animation format of SVGAPlayer used for live-stream gifts and chat effects. SVG is a vector image format. This tool makes SVGA files.
Will the SVGA be smaller than my GIF?
Sometimes. Each GIF frame becomes a PNG layer. Optimized mode shares one background and stores only the changed part of each frame, which helps when most of the picture stays still. Busy, full-frame motion can make the SVGA larger than the GIF — the page shows the real sizes before you download.
Does it keep the GIF's timing and transparency?
Yes. Frame delays are kept by choosing a frame rate whose frame boundaries fall within 5 ms of the GIF's (up to 30 fps); the exact remaining timing error is shown. Transparent pixels stay transparent.
Does it turn the GIF into vector animation?
No. A GIF is made of pixels, so the SVGA holds pixel layers. Nothing is traced into shapes.
Which players can open the file?
It is a standard SVGA 2.x file (zlib-compressed protobuf). It is checked here with the official SVGAPlayer-Web-Lite player. That web player usually skips the last frame of a loop, so the converter ends the file on a copy of the first frame by default.
How do I convert a GIF to SVGA?
Drop the GIF on this page, choose Fast or Optimized, press Convert and download the .svga file.
Can I convert MP4 or WebM video to SVGA?
Not on this page — it reads GIF files. Video to SVGA is planned as a separate browser-only tool.
Can I open the result again here?
Yes. SVGA Preview plays any SVGA 2.x file in your browser, including the ones made here.
