What is HEIC to JPG?
HEIC to JPG converts the photos your iPhone or iPad saves as HEIC/HEIF into ordinary JPG files that open on Windows, Android and every upload form. The HEIC is decoded on your device (natively in Safari, with a self-hosted decoder elsewhere), the camera's orientation is applied so the JPG is upright, and you can keep the full resolution or make it smaller.
Key features
- Reads HEIC and HEIF from iPhone, iPad and Mac
- Upright output using the camera orientation
- Full resolution kept unless you resize
- Quality control (82 by default; raise it for printing)
- Before/after format, dimensions, file size and % change
- Output decoded again and checked before download
- Runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded
Popular uses
- Open iPhone photos on a Windows PC
- Upload photos to forms that only accept JPG
- Send pictures to Android users and older apps
Supported formats
Input: HEIC, HEIF. Output: JPG.
Troubleshooting
- The photo is rejected as unreadable Some files only carry a .heic name. If it was cut short during transfer, copy it again from the phone or export it from Photos as 'Most Compatible'.
- I have many HEIC photos Use the Batch Image Converter with JPG selected — one ZIP for the whole set.
- The page says the image is too large for this device Very large pictures have to fit in your browser's memory. Close other tabs or use a computer.
- Need a different format? Open the Image Converter — it reads 10 formats and writes 7.
Also known as: HEIC Converter, iPhone Photo to JPG, HEIF to JPEG, Convert HEIC on Windows.
How it works
- Choose one HEIC or HEIF photo from your iPhone, iPad or Mac.
- JPG is preselected; adjust quality, size or keep the photo's camera data if you like.
- Convert and download a JPG that opens on Windows, Android and every upload form.
FAQ
Why can't I open HEIC files on Windows?
HEIC uses the HEVC codec, which many Windows PCs, Android phones and websites do not read. JPG opens everywhere.
Is my iPhone photo uploaded?
No. The HEIC decoder is a self-hosted WebAssembly file that runs in your browser (Safari decodes HEIC natively).
Will the photo be sideways?
No. The orientation stored by the camera is applied, so the JPG is upright.
