What is Profile Picture Maker?
Profile Picture Maker turns a photo into a clean avatar. Frame your face in a square with a live circular preview, zoom and reposition, then choose a circle, rounded or square shape, an output size from 128 to 1080 px, a border, a background for transparent areas and a soft shadow. Save a PNG with transparent corners or a JPG — all in your browser.

Troubleshooting
- The corners are black in some apps Some apps show transparency as black. Save as JPG with a corner colour, or pick a background.
- I'm asked to confirm the first frame Animated GIF, WebP and AVIF files hold several pictures. This tool works on one, so it asks before using only the first frame — nothing is flattened silently.
- The page says the image is too large for this device Very large pictures have to fit in your browser's memory. Close other tabs, try a computer instead of a phone, or shrink the picture first with Resize Image.
Also known as: PFP Maker, Avatar Maker, Circle Profile Picture, Round Photo Maker.
How it works
- Choose a photo; it opens in a square frame with a circular preview.
- Drag and zoom to frame your face, then pick the shape, size, border, background and shadow.
- Download a PNG (transparent corners) or JPG. Nothing is uploaded.
FAQ
Which size should I use?
800×800 suits most social profiles; 1080×1080 keeps extra detail; 512 or 256 is enough for apps and chat avatars.
Can I put a coloured background behind myself?
The background fills transparent areas — for a new backdrop behind a person, remove the background first, then use the transparent PNG here.
Why PNG?
PNG keeps the corners outside the circle transparent, so it sits cleanly on any page.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser.
Will the circle be cut by the social network again?
Most networks crop avatars to a circle themselves. A square PNG with your face centred works everywhere; the circle preview shows what they will show.
