What is Document Scanner?
Document Scanner makes a scanner out of your phone or computer. Take photos of pages or add images; each page's edges are found and the page is straightened, even when it was photographed at an angle. Choose original (perspective only — best for stamps and signatures), colour, grey or black-and-white text; optionally clean up shadows and uneven light; hold Compare to see before/after clean-up. Reorder, retake, rotate or clear pages, pick A4, Letter, Legal or each page's own shape, and download one PDF. Tick “searchable” to add an invisible text layer with the self-hosted OCR engine for English and Bangla; nothing is sent to an online OCR service. Always proofread names and numbers. Pages where no text can be read stay as images and are listed in a note.

Supported formats

Troubleshooting
- A page's edges are wrong Select the page and drag its corners, or use “Find edges again”; for an image that is already cropped, use “Whole photo”.
- Black-and-white text looks broken or too heavy Move the text darkness slider, or switch to grey for pages with photos, stamps or light pencil.
- Searchable PDF found no text The OCR could not read the page — choose the right language and use a sharp, well-lit photo at 200 or 300 dpi.

FAQ
Are my documents uploaded?
No. Edge detection, straightening, cleanup, OCR and the PDF are all made in your browser; nothing is sent to Fah Swe servers or any other service.
What does “searchable PDF” do?
It reads the text on each page with an OCR engine that runs in your browser (English and Bangla) and adds an invisible text layer, so you can search and copy text. Pages where no text could be read are left as images and listed in a note. Always proofread names and numbers — OCR is not perfect.
Which mode is best for stamps and signatures?
Use Original (no clean-up) so ink and stamps stay as captured after perspective correction. Black-and-white text is best for plain printed pages; colour or grey for forms with photos or coloured marks.
Can I scan many pages?
Yes — add as many pages as your device's memory allows; each page is processed one at a time at full resolution.
What is Continue in Document Studio?
After you create a PDF, you can open it in PDF Organize, Edit or OCR, or open the corrected page images in JPG to PDF — using a temporary handoff stored only in this browser (up to about 30 minutes). Nothing is uploaded. Expired handoffs are refused when next opened; they are not guaranteed to vanish while the browser is closed.
Is the OCR text always correct?
No OCR is perfect. The text layer comes from the page image, so check important names and numbers; the page image itself is never changed by the OCR.
