What is JSON Schema Validator?
JSON Schema Validator checks a JSON instance against a schema in this browser using a draft-07 subset: type, required, properties, items, enum, minimum/maximum and pattern. $ref is not followed, and conditionals and format keywords are not a full implementation. Use a dedicated conformance suite when you need certification. Schema and instance stay in this tab — they are not uploaded.
Key features
- Paste a JSON Schema and a JSON instance
- Draft-07 subset: type, required, properties, items, enum, min/max, pattern
- Error list with a path into the instance
- $ref is not resolved — remote or local references are reported, not fetched
- Export the error list; no server-side schema registry
Popular uses
- Spot a missing required field before shipping a payload
- Check enum and numeric bounds on a sample document
- Keep customer JSON on-device while you debug a contract
Supported formats
Paste JSON Schema and JSON. Optional error-list export. No upload.
Troubleshooting
- A $ref error on a valid-looking schema Expected: $ref is not followed. Inline the referenced definition, or use a full validator.
Also known as: JSON schema checker, Draft-07 validator, JSON contract test.
How it works
- Paste the JSON Schema and the JSON instance.
- Validate.
- Fix reported paths or export the error list.
